I suppose that my parents, both of whom are school teachers, had some impact on my career choice as a professor. Since I was a kid, I have heard many stories about the life of a teacher. Most of these were out of pure frustration. So, why does one still have the passion to keep teaching? Money? Perhaps yes, but I have a more definitive answer. It is the smile of my father's face whenever former students come around our house to visit.

I remember asking my mother many times: " Mom, why is it always that Dad's students visit us and not yours? " My mother always gave me the same answer: " It is because your Dad has a special gift that I don't have: his students always feel that he really cares about them. He is much more than a teacher. "

I personally believe that to be a good teacher, it is much more than the ability to explain concepts effectively. It requires the desire to teach, to really care about and to listen to the needs of the students.

I love teaching. Not only because I love my parents, but I also love the material that I teach, and most importantly, I love seeing the students change from knowing nothing to knowing something.

Now, it remains for you to judge if I am a teacher.
