From Raw Data to Actionable Insights: Biorhythm Analysis with Modern Signal Processing Techniques for Clinical Use

Abstract:

In the field of clinical health monitoring, we are no longer limited to collecting snapshot health data. With the proliferation of wearable devices and other technologies, physicians can now easily obtain multimodal physiological waveforms collected over extended periods of time. However, the nonstationarity and heterogeneity nature of these datasets can pose a serious challenge for healthcare providers and medical researchers, particularly when they require clinically useful and actionable information at the point of care. In this talk, I will discuss recent progress in signal processing and time series analysis aimed at addressing these challenges. Specifically, I will focus on the utility of time-frequency analysis as a key tool for extracting relevant information from these complex datasets. Through a series of clinical examples, I will illustrate how these methods can be used to provide practical solutions for healthcare providers and improve the delivery of patient care.
