About Me

I am a PhD candidate at the department of Statistics University of California Davis working under the joint supervision of Professor Debashis Paul and Professor Alexander Aue. Prior joining the PhD program at UC Davis, I studied Statistics at Shiraz University and joined the masters program at UC Davis after moving to the US. My research interests are in the theoretical and computational aspects of data analysis especially those related to high dimensional/massive data analysis and stochastic modeling. In particular, I am interested in applying results from random matrix theory and functional analysis to address challenges with high dimensional statistical analysis and machine learning. My dissertation research is concerned with developing an estimation procedure for estimating the spectral distribution of coefficient matrices and the covariance matrix of high dimensional linear processes. Beside research, I also enjoy teaching. During my graduate studies at the UC Davis I have had the opportunity to serve as a teacher assistant for various courses in both statistics and mathematics departments.
